He rang the bell to close the trading session on Friday, January 14, 2005. That days also marks his retirement from the radio station. Dave Herron, CEO of the Exchange, and Rod Zimmerman and Drew Hayes, senior management at WBBM, joined Mr. Walter on the podium in the closing bell ceremony.
